📢 Powell Butte Meeting Set on PacifiCorp Power Line

A community meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 6 PM at the Powell Butte Community Center (8404 SW Reif Rd). Representatives from PacifiCorp and Crook County officials will share updates on the Blueprint South 500 kV transmission line and answer public questions on project routes and timelines. 🔗 Full Story

🐶 Deschutes County Launches New Online Dog Licensing System


Dog owners in Deschutes County can now use DocuPet to easily license their pets, comply with state law, and access lost pet services. The new platform lets owners create secure profiles, upload vaccination info, and choose custom dog tags. Only 32% of local dogs are currently licensed — the county hopes this upgrade will boost compliance and reunite more lost pets with their owners.

🧗‍♂️ Bend Teen Named National Bouldering Champion


17-year-old Nathaniel Perullo, a student at Cascades Academy and climber with Bend Endurance Academy, won the U.S. national title in bouldering and earned a spot at the Youth World Championships in Finland. He also placed 4th in lead climbing, securing a spot on the U.S. National Team.

Nashville-based musician Pete Mroz (from The Voice fame) and music entrepreneur Shannon Pollard (grandson of Eddy Arnold and founder of Plowboy Records) have acquired Breedlove and Bedell Guitars from Two Old Hippies Guitars LLC. They pledge to uphold the American-made craftsmanship and community focus while guiding the brands into their next chapter. Operations in Bend will continue uninterrupted.
