🚦 Mother, Two Young Children Hit While Crossing Bend Intersection
A 21-year-old mother and her two children, ages 1 and 5, were taken to the hospital Tuesday after they were hit by a vehicle at Reed Market Road and Third Street in Bend. Police said the family was crossing Third Street with the right of way when a 48-year-old Bend man, turning right from Reed Market onto southbound Third Street, struck them at low speed.

All three suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was cited for failing to yield to pedestrians, and some lanes were closed for about an hour while investigators reconstructed the crash. The intersection is one of three in Bend equipped with a red-light camera, although police said it was not immediately clear whether the westbound-facing camera recorded the collision.
