O.A.R. is marking 30 years on the road with a summer stop at Hayden Homes Amphitheater, bringing three decades of crowd-favorite rock, pop and jam-band energy to Bend. Expect plenty of familiar sing-along moments from a band that built its reputation on turning concerts into big communal celebrations.

The lineup makes this one particularly strong: Gavin DeGraw joins the bill with his piano-driven pop-rock catalog, while Lisa Loeb brings another dose of ’90s nostalgia. Three recognizable acts, one summer evening along the Deschutes — this is easily the week’s headline show.

Central Oregon after dark is pretty spectacular on an ordinary night. Add the Perseid meteor shower and a canoe floating across a high Cascade lake, and you have one of those experiences that feels uniquely ours. Wanderlust Tours heads away from city lights for an evening of paddling, stargazing and naturalist-led interpretation beneath some of the region’s darkest skies.

Guides provide the canoes, paddles, PFDs and headlamps, along with hot cocoa and a local Sparrow Bakery treat. The official peak falls August 12, but Wanderlust is also running weekend departures August 14–16, when meteor visibility is still expected to be strong.

🎭 Theater in the Park: The Producers

Drake Park becomes an open-air theater for two nights as Theater in the Park returns with Mel Brooks’ Broadway comedy The Producers. The annual production has become a Bend summer tradition, combining a full-scale live musical with one of downtown’s prettiest settings — and this year’s show brings plenty of big characters, ridiculous schemes and over-the-top musical numbers.

Bring a blanket or low-back chair and settle in beneath the trees for a show that feels much more like a summer event than a traditional night at the theater. It’s local arts, downtown Bend and an evening under the open sky all rolled into one.
